snow day.

It was snow.  I don't care what you say.  It was snow.

When you've lived in PHOENIX, Arizona for 97% of your lifetime and have endured one too many triple-digit-days, you have the self-proclaimed right to call a snow day when you see one!

The stars aligned for us on our snow day.  Chris home early from work, kids nap schedules out of whack and a rainy day leaving us stuck in doors.  Well, not for long.

Not only is snow incredibly unusual for Phoenix, heavy rain can even be considered sightseeing.  We watched, as a family, the rain pour down in sheets and quickly turn into hail!  Amazing.  And then...hail into snow.  Slushy mushy squishy SNOW!

We threw on our warm clothes and rushed to make snow balls.

Introducing our kids to snow for the very first time...in Phoenix.

More words I never thought I'd say!

Don't worry - Warner got to play too!  He just went back inside before it got too cold!
