Time for a Sleepover!

What do you do when your A/C goes out in Phoenix?

You have a sleepover!

Thank goodness our house has two A/C units or else this weekend would have played out a little differently!  Naturally, triple digit weather is not the best time for your A/C to bust but in this situation, there's definitely a silver lining.

Family sleepover!

PJ's, pack n' play and a nighttime episode of Dora...I'd say we are set.  And frankly, I think Avery agrees!  She was one happy little girl.

This little set-up did cause a long delay in her falling asleep but hey, it's only temporary.  I couldn't help but laugh when she popped up from the pack n' play countless times to greet us with yet another "hiiiiiiiiii-eeeeee".

"But Avery.  It's night night time."

"Hiiiiiii-eeeeeeeee".

Laugh.  Smile.  Repeat.

As much as I love having her close to me at night, it did make for one cranky tot today.  Here's to a new A/C by tomorrow!

Jen plus One!

It's that time again!

Time for another much anticipated visit from Jen!  And this time it came with an added bonus...her 4 month old, beautiful daughter, Madelyne!

I couldn't wait to meet sweet Madelyne!  She was even more adorable in person and such a joy to be around.  She is definitely her mommy's little girl - a mini Jen!  So, so precious.

As you can imagine, this visit was quite "home bound".  With 3 babies under 16 months old in the house, we didn't get out too much.  Our mornings consisted mostly of strategizing the most efficient way to get to Starbucks.  Which baby to bring and which baby to leave at home with the other adult.

Jen said it best..."wasn't it just yesterday that our biggest decision of the day was which running route to take?".

She's right.  But it was also on those runs that we talked and daydreamed of these days.  The days of hanging out and holding our babies in our arms.

How amazing.

Jen - It was so wonderful spending the week with you!  I love you so much and appreciate you coming to visit us.  I cannot wait to see you and your precious family again soon!...

Remember when we used to just throw on a pair of shoes to go on a run?

Oh how I love these two little munchkins!

Sweetness.

All aboard!

Eat up baby!  We will be at Saint Mary's in no time!

Such a great Mother's Day!

Melt me.
I'm really starting to like these Mother's Day celebrations ;)

It's amazing how life can change and things you used to take for granted now rise to the top of your wish list!  In this case, a nap and errand running topped my list!

I never expected to enjoy my morning nap and afternoon of running errands so much.  It made me realize how important it is to take time for yourself and "step away" every once in awhile.  Especially now that I'm staying at home.

My Mother's Day even started the night before when we packed up the kiddos and headed to the Anthem outlets.  It was very refreshing to get a few clothing pieces that were not maternity or business attire!  You know you've been pregnant more often than not in the last two years when your wardrobe has more maternity clothes than anything else.

Time to close that chapter.

Chris and Avery made me pancakes in the morning - delish!  Then it was time for a relaxing nap while Chris and Warner ran some errands.  And so I could spend the afternoon doing whatever I wanted, Chris took Aves and Warner over to his mom's to visit.

From Michael's to Trader Joe's, then Marshall's and Target - I was on a roll!  And yes, I may have fit a trip to Hava Java and America's in there but why not?  I was making the most of this day!

By 5pm, I was soooo ready to see my family!  To my surprise, I get home to clean bottles, a clean house and two sleeping babies.  And one very handsome hubby.

It's hard to explain but this gesture put such a smile on my face.

My first load in from the car!  ;)

Does it get cuter?

What a wonderful, wonderful day!

A Girl in Green!

This beautiful face.
I have so much fun playing with her everyday.
Two of her favorite playtime activities?
Digging through mom's drawers and playing in the front yard!
Sounds like a good day to me.
How could you ever say no to her?
Da? Da?
Cords.  Is this a problem?

Warner turns 1 month!

Didn't I just post Warner's birth pictures???

That's what I thought.

And just like that, my little boy is getting bigger.  Bigger onesies, bigger diapers and bigger bottles.

I love him.  So much.

The Stats at his 1 month appointment:
9lbs, 11oz
21 inches
 and still handsome as ever!
Wheewww...what a month!
And you know what that means!  The sticker pictures are back!

Here comes Summer!

We can't avoid it.  It's here.

This Summer I am going to stay positive about the heat and make the most of it!  I plan to get creative and embrace the "rays" if you will.  And I mean that not so literally.

There is a lot to look forward to about this Summer:

Visits from friends; weddings; my 30th - which means Garth Brooks in Vegas; the BIG move, Mission Beach etc.!

Let the fun begin my friends...

What better way than to start than with Cinco de Mayo pool fun with the Plas family?  :)

Carbo-loading!

Chris came home early yesterday for a surprise pool party with Aves!  She was thrilled!

Come on guys!  Let's get a move on!
This is the life!

Headed to the Doc!

Just a couple days after we arrived home, it was time to check in for Warner's 1st doctor's appointment.

He did great and passed with flying colors!

The STATS:
Birth - 6lbs, 7oz; recorded at 18.25 inches (but this was off due to dr. appointment clarification)
Left hospital - 6lbs, 2oz
1st Dr. Appt. - 6lbs, 5oz; 19 inches
2 week Dr. Appt. - 7lbs, 8oz; 21 inches

Since Chris is not one for needles, I thought it was hysterical that he was the only one who ended up getting a shot at Warner's appointment.  Clearly someone was overdue for a vaccine!

Be brave Dad!

Warner's Newborn Photo Shoot

From the start, Warner has been an alert baby!  He's not your typical sleep-every-second-newborn.  He's just...awake.  The good news?  He doesn't really cry unless he's hungry or needs a change but it definitely takes some effort to get him to fall and stay asleep.

For the first few days, I had to try and remember whether or not a newborn needs entertainment.  Seriously.  He was just hanging out and giving this look like "what's up?...what are we doing today?".  It's really pretty funny.  But truthfully, not as funny at 2am.

And in addition to being alert; he's a mover and strong.  Chris even asked the hospital nurse if he was "too strong".  Hah!  Clearly come 2nd baby, we find concern in over achievement.  That made us laugh!  Basically, he always seems to have one of his limbs moving and shaking.

With all that said, it should have been little surprise that his Newborn Photo shoot proved to be quite the challenge.  Bri was her incredible self and managed to capture timeless, beautiful photos despite the circumstances.

After three hours in a very hot house and lots of baby rocking, we just couldn't get Warner to sleep.  Chris and Avery arrived near the end and for some reason we thought the addition of an active tot would make the shots easier?

Blame it on lack of sleep.

So, how?  I ask.  Did she still get these shots?  She's an unbelievable photographer.

My favorite.
