What every girl needs!

A Purple Polka-dotted Avery Chair!

Let me back up a little...

The past couple of days have been a little out of whack. I was hoping Aves would fit in her usual and predictable morning nap but she was just off and couldn't seem to settle down. Thinking her Baby Sensory Class (something she loves!) would help, I realized quickly it did just the opposite. Finally, after 5 long hours of morning "alertness", she managed to sleep for a good hour.

Unfortunately, our next stop only made things worse: Her 6-month checkup. For some reason, this round of immunizations was much tougher on her than the other two rounds. Ahh, the painful necessities in life.

Those poor sweet thighs and the three little bruises that quickly revealed themselves.

Today more than anything has been a day filled with crankiness but since it's her 6-Month Birthday, we just can't help but spoil her and search deep for that missing smile of hers! I know we will find it again soon.

Oh - and I cannot forget her latest statistics!
Avery James coming in at a solid 19lbs, 14 oz. (that's right - I almost have 20lb baby!) which happens to be in the 97th percentile. Hmmm, what a surprise! ;)

And height is 27 inches, 95th percentile.

Our solid little buttercup is growing fast.

**Okay, back to that purple chair! It arrived just as we planned for Avery's 6-month birthday!!...

The start of a beautiful friendship...

It's funny...Susan and I thought we clicked instantly.

But after introducing our hubby's to each other, those two have given us a run for our money. They clicked. Really, really well.

And if a great friendship over the years hasn't been enough, it turns out we all make great business partners too. A recipe for disaster? Quite the opposite.

So why would it be any different for Baby Aves and precious Campbell Bamble? It wouldn't be. And watching these two together is more fun than I think we ever anticipated.

*Campbell set up this comfy fort area for her and "Baby Avery" - her heart is a sweet one.*

"Um, Campbell...who is your favorite character?"

"Just wait Baby Avery! I have so many neat things to show you!"

*What a sweet image*

*Avery's first car*

"Come on, Baby Avery...let me show you my beautiful pink room!"

Oh. I love her.

I will be the first to admit the fun I have dressing Avery up in cute outfits, coordinating hair ribbons and stylish sunnies.

But no matter what ensemble I create, nothing is more precious than a single diaper, baby rolls and a heart-melting smile from your little girl.

A Visit from Preggers!

Just checking in!

Things have been going great. I have had the chance to catch up on a lot of things I wanted to (sans my blog) but at least I'm getting there.

Last weekend was wonderful of course because I was blessed with yet another visit from my bestie Jen Ramos! Love love her and this was the first time I got to see my long time-friend preggers! She is due this January and I couldn't be more excited! Not to mention, VERY excited to find out the gender.

We always have the best time together and as I say in every blog entry after Jen leaves, I wish we lived closer together. There. I said it.

And I have to congratulate her on just being awarded 1 of 3 nursing positions at a California hospital out of 200 applicants. Can we say stud muffin??

Jen - you are amazing and will make an incredible nurse but even a better mommy! I miss you already! Can you believe we didn't take one picture while you were here?

Justice NOT served.

I have to do it.

I just have to at least state how strongly I believe justice was NOT served today for Caylee Anthony. And I know I am hardly the only one speaking out on this.

For anyone who has followed this case even slightly, they should be able to see the disturbing and obvious fact that Casey killed her own daughter.

I am sick over this. Not only because I have a daughter or because I have a child. I am sick over it because I am a human with a soul and a heart. Casey is evil.

Maybe in some crazy world I am wrong on this but it seems painfully obvious I am not.

I just heard Nancy Grace say "Casey is even likely to make over 1 million dollars over her daughter's murder".

I cannot say enough how much this upsets me...

The BIG 29!...

Saturday was my 29th birthday and it was a GREAT birthday! Fortunately our plans involved being INDOORS ALL DAY because was it the hottest day of the year so far (118 degrees!). Yikes. Taking one step out the door, you felt suffocated and overwhelmed with heat.

That didn't take away from a wonderful day. I got to spend the day with my excellent hubby and adorable daughter shopping at Fashion Square and got some great stuff! We ate lunch at Z Tejas where Avery put on quite the show! She was chatting up a storm in the restaurant but people seemed to like it because they would come up and say what a cutie she was. And no, we couldn't argue with that!

After an afternoon nap with Aves, I got ready for a date with Chris! Glenda was sweet enough to come over and spend time with Avery while we were out! As you can imagine, Avery was thrilled to see Nana!

Chris and I went to iPic at the Scottsdale Quarter! It's one of those dine in movie theaters and worth all the rave. We saw Larry Crowne which I highly recommend (surprisingly good). I should mention, Chris managed to keep our evening plans a surprise; something he rarely accomplishes due to my excessive questioning. teehee.

All in all - a great birthday!...

San Diego - June 2011

I love San Diego. I want to live there one day. Fortunately, so does my hubby! ...well, at least for part of the year. Can you guess which part? ;)

This was not only Avery's 1st trip to the beach but Avery's 1st trip ever! I know I'm her mom and she can do no wrong in my eyes, but honestly, she was SOOO good. And especially given the fact that she was 4 1/2 months old, we couldn't believe how "chill" she was the entire week. Hmmm, can you use chill to describe a baby? ;)

After a last minute decision to leave one day early and stay with Jamie and Jereme (such incredible hosts!) the vacation was off to a great start! Chris, Glenda, Aves and I arrived around 8pm with a delicious meal and chilled wine waiting for us. Does it get better? Their house is amazing and it is sparkling clean with impressive decor. I could have left after that night and felt satisfied with my San Diego visit.

And as to be expected, the week flew by. The weather was gloomier than it's ever been while we've traveled there but I didn't mind it a bit. The beach with a baby did prove to be "significant work" so it's not like I would be spending hours laying on the beach tanning. Although I definitely need it. The tanning that is.

Glenda spoiled Chris and I with watching Avery 3 of the nights so we could go out on date nights! It meant so much to us and we knew Avery would love every minute with her Nana!

Other great highlights?

Tahlia announcing us as bridesmaids! How exciting! We cannot wait for the wedding; it will be a blast!

C-Level with James and Jereme. I want to go back. Now.

Guava.

Shopping. Too much shopping.

Family pictures on the beach. (will post these in a different entry)

All in all, it was an excellent trip and one we will have to plan again soon!
