Back in Business...

Let the scrapbooking begin!

Oh how I have missed my consistent scrapbooking days. I'm not sure why but I cannot seem to get myself on a "system" to actually finish a scrapbook. Hence that I am yet to finish my wedding scrapbook (oone of my many goals before the baby arrives). But I think my scrapbooking motivation has been revived :) After a fun night at Michael's a couple weeks back with Jordan, my excitement and focus has reshifted.

Jordan and I had a great scrapbooking evening last Wednesday...what fun!
We are preparing scrapbooks for our babies on board and trying to get all of the pages ready for the obvious milestones (Jordan's brilliant idea)!

I already have 4 pages done and look forward to any free time to work on more. Has my scrapbooking bug really returned? I hope so because by the time Baby Mo arrives, I would love to be UP TO DATE!

He shouldn't have!...but I'll take it!

What a surprise to receive a dozen roses delivered to my office yesterday afternoon! Chris is quite the romantic and sooo good and things like this but these flowers completely caught me off guard! He's on a 3-day Real Estate conference this week and the flowers were simply to say he misses me. Wow. Brroowwnie Points!

I could not swipe the smile off of my face all afternoon! How did I get so lucky??

Coronado, Mission Beach, Oh my!

Is it getting pretty obvious that I love Southern California?

If Chris and I get the opportunity to head to Cali, we have a very hard time passing it up. We tried to be "conservative" when this trip option came along, but we are too prediticable...it was a must :)

We couldn't pass up on a weekend in Cali when my Dad and Ann, Jamie and Jereme AND The Plas' were all down there! The writing's on the wall.

We spent the first night in Coronado since The Plas' had a place there for two weeks. We had never been to Coronado and oh what a hidden gem :) I love it there and didn't want to leave...I was ready to plan a trip there for next summer. We had such a fun night with Susan, TP and Campbell (as we always do). Susan and Chris had the pleasure of trying "the best margarita in the world" and that only added to the fun of the evening. Susan had me laughing so hard my cheeks still hurt the next morning!

We met up with Dad and Ann on Friday, settled in and headed to Guava Beach Bar before we could say.....ummm, Guava Beach Bar?? The Plas Family met us for dinner which was just another added treat!

Saturday was a fun filled beach day but the good ol' SoCal sun got me. Note to self: pregnant women burn more easily. I was a lobster by the end of the night and aloe was my best friend. Whoopsies. Despite being a Hot Tamale, we all had a great dinner at The Fire House with James and Jereme AND Wells and Jess (Jereme's amazing friends!)...we must have laughed the entire meal!

Sadly, the weekend ended just as quickly as it began. James & J took us to Stone Brewery (highly recommended!) for a delicious lunch. I cannot wait to go back! My friend "nausea" snuck up on me twice this weekend...she just cannot take a hint! Oh well, feeling better now!

What a great weekend!

I could very well be getting in my own way ;)

I am 28 years old. Shouldn't I know myself by now?

I am an optimist, a planner and unfortunately in this case...a do-er! Since we were told by the ultrasound specialist, doctor and even Intelligender that they "are very confident" we are having a little girl, I pretty much made up my mind that yes indeed, we are having a girl. It's so much more fun to believe them because that means, I can start on the nursery! (even though they advise against this) ;)

I figured that a trip to Home Depot to just get paint samples of the two purples I am planning to use, would be HARMLESS! Wrong.

It turns out, I am incapable of painting just one stipe...because then I want to see what two stripes will look like. And of course, if I paint two, I might as well finish painting the entire nursery. During stripe one, I thought...it will be really funny if it turns out to be a boy. 20 stipes and 3 days worth of painting later...Chris and I both agree we will be "pissed" if it's a little boy. That or our sweet little boy will have a purple room! ;)

I still feel confident it's a little girl. Good thing because it wasn't only me doing the work. Jamie painted and bunch on Friday night and Chris and I took on the daunting task of the stripes the rest of the weekend.

I will wait for all of the next steps until we "officially" find out...that should be in about 3-4 weeks!

Then again, I could be blogging in a week with the grand finale!

Two Wonderful Surprises!

Just when you think that one of your amazing friends can't get any better, they go ahead and surprise you yet again!

I still have a smile on my face from the wonderful surprise gifts I came home to on Wednesday! My beautiful friend, Jen (Bird) Ramos had an incredible Petunia Pickle Bottom Baby Bag delivered to my house! I repeat...a PETUNIA PICKLE BOTTOM BABY BAG! I have been obsessed with these baby bags and love their style. Oddly enough, Jen and I hadn't even discussed this new obsession of mine so imagine my surprise to see that bag waiting for me! Just another reason of why we are so much alike! I still cannot get over what a generous and thoughtful gift that was. I have had the bag near my side since (well, not while at work - I try to limit myself) but it's such a good reminder that I have a baby coming! And if that wasn't enough, she also sent me the most adorable pregnancy tee that she designed! See above :) A cute tee that says "Coming Soon" - so fun and perfect for the fun little transition stage I am in now.

Jen, I cannot thank you enough! That was soooo sweet of you and you know how much I love the gifts!!!

Baby Bump a' coming!

I had to include this picture! Wally jumping up at last minute :)

Cabo Wabo!

Cabo trip? Check!

Chris and I had a very relaxing trip to Cabo this past week. Yes, it is odd to come back from party-ville Cabo and say we had a relaxing trip but when you are pregnant and nauseous in a city that demands you drink, party and explore untrustworthy water activities, you HAVE to relax. It was really the only option I had. Unfortunately, I am not so great at relaxing but it worked because I came home on Wednesday, revived and wait for it.....ready to go back to work!

The beaches were absolutely gorgeous and the service was impeccable. Since this was my first time in Mexico, I finally got a taste of why Senate Bill 1070 even exists (well, you know what I mean). I am just so thankful to live in America. Our resort was nice and room comfy, which was good because we were in by 8pm every evening and watched movies together. I got a wonderful massage and facial to only add to all the other relaxation!

Before we headed off to Cabo, I had another weeks worth of unexpected nausea! It came back out of nowhere and reminded me why I was so happy it left in the first place. As we were checking in our luggage at Sky Harbor, I started dry heaving and felt I was going to faint (for those who know me well, know if I get overheated too quickly, I get faint within seconds)...so I had to sit on the floor and next thing I know they are handing me water and a garbage can asking if I need the paramedics. No, I did not but how embarassing! I am feeling better....for now ;)
